Perpendicular

Kim Norton & Alexandra Mazur-Knyazeva

An exhibition to experience the installation of space, light and objects.

'Perpendicular' is collaborative duo, artists Kim Norton and Alexandra Mazur- Knyazeva. This exhibition presents an installation in relation to the space and light at ARTHOUSE1. Light, shadow and the relative density of objects are central to the duo's work, as is space and containment. It is through the interaction of light on the density (or lack thereof) of objects, which illuminates our reality of being perpendicular. Simply put, we cast shadows when in daylight and perceive the world around us by visually understanding the way light and shadow fall on objects. And it is the condition of being in open space or being confined which elicits our responses to this understanding.
